What have we been up to?

IT'S ALL SCIENCE TO ST GEORGE'S CLASS 6....

Year 6 were lucky enough to spend a fascinating day at Austerfield College in Doncaster. This special trip was arranged for the Children to help them revise their Science work with hands on activities and fun ways to remember those important Science facts. The Children began their day by making a tree out of.....themselves!

A few Children became the trunk of the tree, other Children took on the roles of roots, branches, leaves and flowers. The Children chanted each tree part and it's job in keeping the tree alive. This was great fun and will really help the Children when they are struggling to remember those important facts. The remainder of the day was spent divided between classroom work and outdoor activities, incorporating important Science revision. The Children also learnt about different rocks, how they are formed and the effects and activity of volcanoes. The day was a great success and everybody returned to School tired, but with lots of renewed enthusiasm for Science revision. Everybody enjoyed the day and the Children were fantastic representatives for our School.
