Internet Permission

As part of the pupils’ curriculum enhancement and the development of ICT skills in KS2, we are providing supervised access to the Internet including e-mail.

Although there have been many concerns about pupils having access to undesirable materials, we have taken positive steps to deal with this risk in school.  Our school Internet access provider operates a filtering system that restricts access to inappropriate materials, and your child will be using the Internet under supervision.  Your child’s activity on the Internet will be monitored and reported to me on a regular basis.

Whilst every endeavour is made to ensure that suitable restrictions are in place and working effectively to prevent children gaining access to inappropriate materials, the Governors and Education Leeds cannot be held responsible for the nature or content of materials accessed through the Internet.

Enclosed is a copy of the Rules for Responsible Internet Use that we operate at St. Gregory’s.  Please read through this with your child, complete the Permission for Internet Access slip provided, and return it to school.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of Internet use you are very welcome to speak to Mrs Strong.
